We were privileged to spend a couple of evenings with Enterprise Angels at their pitch nights this week. We always find the angel world fascinating, as it's more than just investing capital - it's also about rolling your sleeves up and getting involved. The people we meet and the stories that emerge from these events keep us coming back each time.
This year we stepped up to sponsor the Investor Rep award and were delighted to find that the winner, Hadleigh Ford, was chosen for his involvement with Supie, a recent marketplace listing.
Here’s more on the award:
Enterprise Angels encourages members to take on the role of Investor Director or Investor Rep with one of their portfolio companies. This is an informal but important role which aims to maximise value for both the assigned company and its investors. The Investor Rep puts their experience, skills and connections to work for the company and in addition is close contact point between the company and Enterprise Angels.
The finalists in this category highlighted the different ways members support our portfolio companies, from looking after founder wellbeing, to building connections and adding value with expertise in a specialist areas.
In acknowledgement for the work that he has done as the Supie Investor Rep, Hadleigh Ford was announced as this year’s winner.
Sarah Balle, Founder of Supie shared how much she had valued Hadleigh’s support. “As a founder, having someone on board who has experienced the startup journey and can support through all the highs and lows is incredibly invaluable. Hadleigh's SwipedOn journey was hugely successful and he brings this experience to the Supie journey. He's also well aware of his obligations to investors and balances these sometimes conflicting obligations effectively. The Supie board is grateful and proud to have someone of Hadleigh's calibre as part of our journey."
Congratulations Hadleigh Ford, it was great to meet you and to hear your story.
