MyFarm KiwiFruit Fund Quarterly Auction
Managed Investment Scheme
Register InterestThe law normally requires people who offer financial products to give information to investors before they invest. This requires those offering financial products to have disclosed information that is important for investors to make an informed decision. The usual rules do not apply to this offer if you are a person who comes within Schedule1, clause 3(2)(a)-(c) or 3(3)(a)-(b)(ii) (inclusive) of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013. This includes where the amount invested upfront by the investor (plus any other investments the Investor has already made in the financial products) is $750,000 or more. If you fall within Schedule 1, clause 3 of the FMCA as a result of this exclusion, you may not receive a complete and balanced set of information. You will also have fewer other legal protections for this investment. Investments of this kind are not suitable for retail investors. Ask questions, read all documents carefully, and seek independent financial advice before committing yourself.
It has been a fantastic harvest so far for the MyFarm Kiwifruit Fund Orchard portfolio, with more than double the amount of fruit harvested in the lucrative early start period than last year. MyFarm now invites wholesale investors to join the Fund via next month's Quarterly Unit Auction (20-22nd May).
The Auction is an opportunity for investment in the Fund outside of fixed capital raise windows by participating in a secondary market trading event.
Registrations of interest for the Auction close on Friday, 9th May 2025.
The MyFarm KiwiFruit Fund is an opportunity for Wholesale Investors to invest in a diversified portfolio of established SunGold(TM) kiwifruit orchards targeting an annual return of 10%* - made up of targeted cash returns of 7.5% p.a. and 2.5% p.a. capital growth.
SunGold(TM) has been New Zealand's most productive and profitable kiwifruit variety. Investors in the Fund will share in the ownership of 17 orchards (160 hectares) located across the Bay of Plenty and Northland and planted almost exclusively (97%) in SunGold(TM).
With a combined asset value of nearly $200 million, MyFarm KiwiFruit Fund is one of New Zealand's largest kiwifruit investment entities. By virtue of its size, one of the standout features is the Fund's eligibility to take a significant shareholding in Zespri – the world's biggest kiwifruit exporter. Only growers can invest in these shares, which have a track record of paying gross dividends in the range of 15-25% p.a.
The scale of the Fund provides significant benefits for investor returns:
- Access to multiple revenue streams: orchard income and dividends from Zespri shares. The Fund aims to own up to 7.6 million Zespri shares (half of its entitlement) or 15% of net asset value, whichever is greater. Today, the Fund already owns 2.7 million shares, making it one of Zespri's top 5 investment entities.
- Potential to provide more consistent returns. Geographic diversification means capital expenditure costs are spread across a bigger base – as are the risks from weather and other one-off events.
- Reduced costs, including financing and overheads.
- Potential to keep improving the quality of the portfolio by reinvesting in existing orchards or trading up (selling and buying orchards).
